Retail

Systems all over the place?Bring them together, and know every customer.

Your POS, online store, app and CRM each hold a piece of your customer. We bring them onto one platform you own, alongside your team, so you know who your best customers are and Monday's numbers finally agree.

Every system holds a piece of the customer

Nobody plans it this way. A POS here, an online store there, a loyalty app from one supplier, a CRM from another, and a spreadsheet to join them up. None of them agree, so Monday's trading meeting starts with three versions of last week's numbers. Nobody is sure who the best customers are, and every new idea adds one more system.

“Which of these numbers is right?”
“Who are our best customers, actually?”
“Can someone pull that into a spreadsheet?”

Each system was meant to help you sell. Together they've left you three answers to one question.

Trusted by retail brands you know

One foundation, at brands you'll know

Some of these untangled what was there. Others started clean.

  1. 01

Romans Pizza. App, website, call centre, admin and their own CRM, rebuilt on one foundation. A customer is the same customer however they order, and the data is theirs.

  2. 02

Tiger Wheel & Tyre. New features for a national automotive retailer's member app on top, while the systems underneath were rewritten one area at a time, with the business live throughout.

  3. 03

Entabeni. Staff POS and self-service brought into one app across mountain resorts in the US, live through peak season.

  4. 04

BYD Sandton. A dealership website, from signed scope to live in 11 weeks.

05

What one version of the truth takes

Fewer systems is the start. These four things are what we build towards, so Monday's numbers agree.

  1. 01

One customer record. The app, the website, the call centre and the store all read and write the same customer.

  2. 02

A CRM shaped around how you sell. Promotions, vouchers and campaigns run the way your team runs them, so people actually use it.

  3. 03

Reports from the same records. The numbers come from the data the business runs on, so there's nothing to stitch together.

  4. 04

Trading while we build. Your stores keep selling while we ship in small, checked steps.

05Questions

What people ask us first.

Open a question
Do we have to replace all our systems?

No. Start with the system that causes the most arguments: tell us where the numbers disagree, and we'll connect the fix to what you keep. Each system we bring across after that is one less spreadsheet stitched by hand, and only when it's worth it. Replacing a system that doesn't fit? See Replace off-the-shelf software.

How would you work with our team, and what does it cost?

We attach a pod to your team: experienced engineers, design, analysis and testing, working in your process with your people. It costs the same as outsourcing a single developer, and you only pay for the time you use.

Can you build us a CRM that fits?

Yes. Romans runs its promotions, vouchers and campaigns on a CRM and admin we built around how their team works.

Will our stores keep trading while you work?

Yes. We release in small, checked steps, and Tiger Wheel & Tyre stayed live while the systems under their app were rewritten.

Who owns the customer data?

You do, along with the code, the designs and everything we build for you.

What does it look like when it works?

Monday's meeting starts with one set of numbers everyone trusts. You know your best customers by name, and the next offer reaches them the same day.

Do you only build for retail?

No, but the retail work on this page is some of our most used, by customers in stores, online and on the phone.
