Many systems behind the scenes. One app for the guest.
One customer to you, and many systems behind the scenes? Peermont, a leading South African hospitality and gaming group, wanted its loyalty app to be the guest's way into everything across its properties. We've built that app, connected it to the systems behind every part of a visit, and kept it moving as their needs grew.

A bigger idea for their loyalty app
Their loyalty programme ties together everything a guest does across their properties: the gaming floor, the restaurants, the hotel. In 2020 they already had a loyalty app, and a bigger idea for it: one place in the guest's pocket for all of it.
Behind a single visit sit many systems, each built for its own job.
The job was to make all of them feel like one place to the guest, and to keep adding to it.
We built the first connection as a pattern
Early on, the app needed its first connection to one of the group's major systems. A one-off connection would have been quicker for that one system, and every system after it would have needed its own, each one making the app harder to change.
So we built that first connection as a reusable pattern. Every system since has joined the same way.
However many systems sit behind it, the guest sees one app.
How we built it
A platform at the centre of the guest experience has to keep changing without ever becoming risky to change. A few principles have held for the whole of the work.
Every addition builds on what's there
New products and connections follow the same approach as the ones before them, so each one is quicker to add and easier to look after. The platform has kept growing without turning into a patchwork.
Security is part of every piece of work
Security isn't a phase at the end. It's considered in the design of each piece of work, reviewed with every change and kept up to date as the platform grows.
Small releases, each one checked
Every change is reviewed by another engineer and tested before it goes out. Releases are small and frequent, so each one is easy to check.
Looked after as it grows
A platform that runs for years has to be maintained as it grows, or it becomes the thing that slows the business down. Upkeep runs in the same sprints as new features, so the platform never falls far enough behind to need a big rewrite.
A weekly rhythm with their team
Every week starts with planning alongside their team and ends with a release and a retrospective, so their priorities reach the code within days. A dedicated Codehesion team carries the work, with experienced engineers brought in for design, analysis and technical oversight as each piece needs them.
One loyalty app became a family of products
Their teams run the platform themselves. What started as one loyalty app is now a family of products on the same foundation.
Each new idea starts from a platform that's ready for it.
They kept giving us the next product
We started with the next version of one app. From there, each new product came to us too. Today we work as an extension of their technology team.
